The Lebanese version famous herb mix used everywhere in the Arab world. This specific mixture has the pure taste of thyme, coupled with the sourness of the sumac, not overpowered by the taste of salt. The thyme still has the roughness of hand-powdered thyme, it is not a fine powder as produced by machines. Produced in the pesticide-free Touma’s Farm in Marjeyoun, South Lebanon.

Usage:

  • As a spread: Mix with cold-pressed olive oil to make a paste, slather on markouk bread, add some tomatoes and cucumbers and enjoy as a sandwich!

Since 2000, Yola Noujaim, “Em Boutros” the farmer, has been growing in her orchards in Maasser el Chouf more than 20 kinds of aromatic and medicinal plants: Lebanese thyme, Lavender, Sage, Rosa Damascena…

Visit them in Maasser el Chouf and immerse yourself in the orchards where you can enjoy a large variety of fruit trees, herbs, and an incredible collection of roses. Growing at a 1200 meter altitude, in a non-polluted environment without using any pesticides, The Orchards offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and its healing powers. “Em Boutros” Mouneh also produces jams, rose water, rose syrup, mint syrup, lavender water, liquid soap…. “Em Boutros” Mouneh is part of a non-profit community project that includes Al Fundok Hotel & “ Em boutros “ Le Restaurant.
